I have never seen a Duboisi Hybrid except where it crossed with another Duboisi type.  I have never read in any book or forum.  In fact most books say that Duboisi should be its own Genus.

The Annectens/Poli has such a limited distribution in the lake, and it co-exists with other variants, they are very selective in their breeding.

I am sure you could probably cross them with others but it might be a disaster.

Okay. But still, "Tropheus" is a distinction humans give to a certain type of fish in order to differentiate it from the rest. Today's "Tropheus" is just that. It's not yesterday's fish that wasn't yet a Tropheus...yesterday meaning past.

Can I borrow the DVD, by the way?  :)

            Re: Burundi Farms - Discussion

I am 100% certain that the Brichardi and Moorii types will hybridize with each other and even with themselves.  I have read it in books, forums, and seen picutres, and firsthand they will.

It is not safe to mix them.  All I can tell you is that I have mixed them, and the only time I got into trouble was when their colors were too close to together, or when they had a hyper agressive male.

Quoc is right.  There is a huge difference between natural selection and changes in geogrphy and thousands of years, versus overnight or month long process of man-made variants.

                  I could not agree more.

Really, though, where can I find a copy of this DVD? I'd like to see it. (Edit - thanks, D...)

                        Okay, carried over from here..

So if one of my WC mates with a PR and the PR spits, there is no F series designation for those fry?

                          None.

Any fry from the colony consisting of WC+PR would be = TR

What would be the selling price of a TR Kasanga fry?

So far from what I have seen here in houston everyone sells for $10ea.

Regardless of what variant. Of course qty. Discounts apply.
