Re: Tank Builder - in my home

I'm take some delight in the fact that when I saw the ad, I merely chuckled at the absurdity of such a large tank, or maybe it was the large price tag,  oh well either way, guess I can cancel those AAA Fish o holic meetings now..... :)

      geoff_tropheus --

If you could keep them all, is there a way for you to change which combinations of fish you could keep in each tank ?  Ie where you could make it happen ?
I would sell the 115 and keep the 150, and use it and fill in two colonies in that.

I feel bad for you having to give up one colony

Re: Tank Builder - in my home

I wanted to give everyone an update.

I decided to pass on the fish tank.  As many of you know, I am looking to get into a House by next summer.

I did not want to have to pay someone to assemble this tank now, then dissassemble, transport, and re-assemble next summer in my new house.

So...with that said...I decided on somethingelse....

I decided upon a new 375 gallon WIDE 96" x 30" x 30" Acrylic tank (6" wider than I got now).  I am looking to get Greg custom build me a stand and see where it goes from there.  This might not happen till Thanksgiving, but its my new plan.

                Looks like this...

                375 gallon - Trewavasae, Annectens
300 gallon - Famula Chimba, Red Cheeks , Katoto
180 gallon - Dubs, Ujiji, Rutunga
                180 gallon - Ikola, Kiku
                115 gallon - Lunangwa

Sell : 125 gallon tank only, 150 gallon setup, and another 150 gallon setup

Or keep a 150 gallon setup, and sell the 115 setup..

                    Geoff --

The 375 will be a nice tank :)
Why dont you just wait until you move to get another tank rather than working on doing it now.
Once you move you will most likely have a garage where you can store tanks until they are either sold or setup.
(we all know you will not sell them unless you can get bigger -- LOL)

                    Jesper

PS call my realtor friend Rachel Lippman (713)557-1179 -- tell her that Jesper sent you... she will hook you up with a house.. she works the SE side of Houston primarily.. but I used her of course to get me my house in Katy....

Re: Tank Builder - in my home

                      Thanks Jesper,

I am going to be looking in Pasadena outside the beltway and West of Spencer Highway and before Clear Lake Area ie.Almeda Genoa.

Looking for single storey (duh..) detached garage, and about 1800sq ft.

If I want tanks wider than 36" I am going to need double doors on the back or front.

I know..its burning a hole in my pocket.

36"+ wide just means the tank is coming though the sliding glass door to the back yard.... :) :) :)

Btw... since your girl is going to want to have a TV at the house....  Go look at the geeks home...
                                TV between two tanks....

                                or

Hang the TV up on the wall above two 6ft'rs  Now you are talking.. she gets the TV.. you get to look at the fish and still be able to share the couch
