well i got the 90 cleaned out going to get some pool filter sand from a store near by and "borrow" some holey rock from some neighbors. i got a wet dry almost ready to roll and hopefully the new impellor will get the mag 12 working now alls i need to do is re-silcone the overflow in and add fish so my question if i want to browse some fish in person (pics are nice but im more partial to seeing up close ) where should i go and a side note should i use the GE silicone I or II

I would ride around to different people houses... no LFS that I have went to has a nice tropheus display tank.

GE Silicone I.  The other one will kill your fish...it's got the anti-mold chemical in it.

i see well sry about the location im in bellaire near 59 and 610 so really i have fish ranch II (i worked there over the summer) and Fish gallery which is ridicously expensive even if the did have anything whats the tropheus tour?

you may want to go ahead and add your location information into your profile, just to avoid future confusion.

the tropheus/petro tour was a tour set up by the members of the Houston Petrochromis/Tropheus club. so far it was a one time thing, and it was a small tour in the area of people who keep these species.

imo, we're due for another!

LFS that have Tropheus....

Extreme fish and pets - 10 Chaitika (3"), 10 Kazumba (3"), 30 Duboisi (fry to adult), and 2 other sp. Black juvie colonies in the back I think..

Ultimate fish - Chimba (30+ adult WC), Chaitika (20+ Adult WC), Duboisi (billions of them), and one or two other colonies that I can't remember names but do remember that they had yellow breast patches similar to a sp. Moorii Mpulugu - plus Petros.

Fish Ranch II - Don't remember but they had a big colony at the entrance to the Cichlid room. Possibly an sp. Black. (30+ adult)

Houston Aquarium Warehouse - I think his Chaitika are gone, but still has the Kazumba (10-12+ adult)

T&T fish and reptile - I don't remember seeing any last week when I went.

Texas Tropheus Traders (if you wanna make the trip) - Per an email sent to me last week:

Fish Ranch II - colony of small chimba's or sp. red
T&T - Grab bag of trophs.... usually a mix of Ulwile/Cherry spot/Bemba or Kirizia and a lone Trew.
