There are some pictures of them in Cichlid forum.

I cannot remember the thread but if you search for them, they are there.

There is a guy who has a number of them.

never found them on CF, but there are some juvi and adult pics on trophs.com for anyone that was wondering how they looked.

What do you guys think about a colony of tricolors in a standard 125g?

how big do these things get?

how many can I fit in this tank?

Mike had some nice tricolors awhile back when I got my kasakalawe's.

I don't think I would do any less than 12.

All of them will be big man... accept that.

Now do what you can to make it work.

I think with any variant its best to work with 12 or more. Cull your males later. I would treat them almost the same way as cyphos when it comes to ratio/stocking.

Mike has had those Tri-Colors for a couple months, July I think, and I believe they are in a 125 with some rogue Tropheus.

They had some nice color from what I could tell...

I dont know how successful you will be at getting future females though...but only Mike could really give a good answer there.

When I saw them they were in that Acrylic on the ground floor in the back corner.

I think it is a 150 with built in overflow

here is the update on the tricolors for those looking to get some.

Mike has moved the 9. I think someone from Houston picked it up. He planning on, if not already.....getting about another 20.

These are the best Petro's to start out with IMO.

                                Good luck MJ
Thanks for the advice Steve. I know you got those 22 tricolors in a 125g. You want to sell your colony?
