Hello Cubbies,

I do not know anyone right now with fry for sale, but I know several members who have just recently picked up colonies.

If your looking for some local pickup, there might be some Pond Raised Juvinile Red Rainbows still at Extreme Fish & Pets.  That was the last place here I knew of for sale locally.

There are a number of importers that have some listed on their websites if your interested in looking online and having them flown in.

TNT Cichlids, Atlantis Tropical Fish, and Old World Exotic have them listed for sale.

Mike (bethesdaboy) at Texas Tropheus Traders, our site sponsor, should be able to help you get them cheaper than those guys, if your willing to wait.

Are they the same ones we unpacked this summer, if so they are way better looking than any Red Rainbows I've seen this year.

I am not trying to get a colony yet.  I only have a 125 gallon tank so far in my townhome.  As soon as I get a house at some point this year I will be looking to get more tanks/an upgrade.  

I was just looking for maybe 6-8 of the red rainbow.  I saw the pictures you guys had in the other thread and those look amazing.  I would love to have those in my tank.

not a good idea to keep that few fishes together.

6 - 8 Red Rainbows most likely will end up 1-3 Red Rainbows in a couple months.

Tropheus need groups of 8-25 fish depending on which variant in order to thrive and not kill each other off 1 by 1.

With Red Rainbows, I would not get less than 15.

You should consider Algarciajr's F1 Kachese fry listed here.

This would be a great start. I wanted to ask though, are you planning on dropping these into a tank with a bunch of other fish, one being a flower horn?

haha yeah I was going to drop them in there.  Actually my wild Ikolas beat the hell out of the flowerhorn right now.  They are protecting the smaller fish as well.  

If I got the Red Rainbows I would get rid of several fish.
