new monster tank---300 gallons

Hey, tropheus and petrochromis fanatics.
I just wanted to share my new 300 gallon, acrylic tank with everyone. The dimensions are 8 feet X 2 feet X 30 inches tall. I currently have a colony of red rainbows and a huge petro blue giant in the tank. The pictures suck but I wanted you all to see it. Perhaps you can see it in person when we finally get around to having a meeting at my home. Geoff and I will work those details out and get back to you.

I've got a pro clear 300 sump (rated for 300 gallons) and an eheim 2028 on it. Those two filters get the job done.

You know I have never been a fan of cansister filters, I guess  I should change my mind...

eheim canister filters are truly great and well worth the money. but my preference is the wet/dry filters. I also like hang on the back filters as well. Simply put, there are a lot of good choices out there on the market regarding filters.

I have a pro clear 300 on my 150 and the water is always crystal clear. I don't have any other filtration on that tank. In my opinion, wet/dry filters are the best. :)

hey, delock.

I bought it from a friend whom kept mobas in it. He sold the mobas to someone from Beaumont and I bought the tank. He wanted me to buy the mobas too, but I am not interested in anything but tropheus and petros. There was no way I was going to pass up the tank. I got a sweet deal on it.

Yeah, I think we are the beginning of a new trend. Soon everyone else will have a 300.

I sure do. I'm also surprised how small my 9 to 10 inch petro looks as well. But I plan on making a colony out of the blue giants. Alex said he can order me some more. I probably should get more red rainbows too.

Yeah, Geoff. I can't wait 'til you see it too. I'm going to down size the number of tanks I have. But I am not getting rid of any of my six foot tanks. I'm debating what to do with the 92 gallon corner and my 140 gallon tank. Hmmm.....
