With a recent discussion I went into my little collection of articles and studies and found the one that had actual Lake side measurements of Dissolved Oxygen.

That's the article you were talking about when we had to O2 discussion? Very good article. Thanks for sharing. :)Our Fishhouse

Thanks for the link, Quok. When I did the o2 sat calculation in the earlier thread I came up with a DO of 7.269 mg/l. The CTD at the lake measured an upper value of 6.79 mg/l while the Winkler titration titered 9.34 mg/l. Interesting mix of figures. If the Hach DO meter was calibrated correctly, I'd trust its results. It's amazing to me how the deep-water cichlids like the fronts can live below the thermocline in such an oxygen-depleted environment.
MarkWhat are the facts? Again and again and again--what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore devine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell", avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history"--what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your only clue.
