Sorry to hear that, hopefully it will all calm down soon and get back to breeding, but I suppose that is what started this recent chain of events to begin with. Are you reading them some Marquis De Sade before bedtime perhaps?

I don't look at it as a good/bad situation. It's just how it plays out sometimes. Recently, I've noticed that a few of the smaller males have been acting up and this is one if those cases where one died while they were setting up their hierarchy. I'm glad that so far it's only 1 BG dead, rather than 3 or more.

Theo, don't be discouraged by this. If you're ready with meds in hand before you get the fish, you can make a good go at it. You just have to be able to stomach what happens where you can't help the situation. Keep your tank packed and give them a LOT of flow and you will well minimize casualties.

Speaking of packing, I think I'm gonna put the bigger Trews in there with the BG to really pack them in.

Death in the darkness. Hard to fight it. Sounds like a twin to the last one I lost the same way. Pain to lose a big pretty fish like that, even if you do have a whole herd of them. Other female still look she's holding?

Don't know what to tell you. The dynamics in every tank work out between the fish in there the way they work out. Throwing some trophs in there might help and I'm sure it won't hurt. I have them in my mix and no murder in some time. You might put the whole bunch of Trews in there. Could divert some BG attention to keeping the Trews suppressed and off of each other.

Agreed Steve. I just added 13 male T Ikola and I will see how they work out over the next few days so I can add the Trews ASAP. I'm liking the Tropheus in there.
