Re: Petrochromis sp Blue Giant
Yes, Trews are on the tank
I've been dealing with filtration issues and subsequent bacterial infections due to poor water quality even with twice weekly WC, nocturnal aggression, and a host of other tidbits so I've been lax in posting much about what's going on.
Filtration problem is almost completely solved and infections are in remission now. Nocturnal aggression is also in check with more than 14,000 gph worth of powerheads in use.
Still working on timing the powerheads because I noticed that these guys like to breed when powerheads are turned off so I'll be running the powerheads at night and on and off during the day to help with detritus evacuation. Figured that out while I was doing the water change yesterday which is what's in the video above. They completely stopped breeding when I turned on the powerheads which led me to this conclusion. So this morning I turned off the powerheads before I left and when I came back the same female had a mouthful of eggs and the alpha and beta males has switched their places on the hierarchy. Gonna have to keep a close on these two.Last edited by SunnyHouTX; 04-08-2013, 02:08 PM.
