Ok so im setting up a Tropheus tank. This will be my first one. Though i do keep many types of Tanganyika fish. The tank is a standard 72' tank. 125 gal iv all ready got filters and decorating planned out background and gravel. But i keep going back n forth on what lights to use. Im between t5 ho or double bright led. What are ur guys opinions on this

Background will be one of those rock insert background, pfs for substrate. Will make some rock piles to match rock background.
Filters wil be an AC 110 with a fluval 405. These are xtras that why im using these.

I don't think that's enough flow for trophs. Filtration should be enough for a small colony. I believe lighting for fish is all based on what you want. Unless you're trying to grow algae for them to eat?

X2 with this.. T5HO would grow algae faster than the LEDs and you definitely need more flow in the tank. Maybe add 2 k4 or something around that.

Why the actual need for so much flow?

I rather invest the money in a wet/dry.

+1 on the wet dry there is nothing trophs love more than a wetdry, maybe i am biased against wetdry systems but they have work great in all my trophs tanks..
And for the light is up to your personal preference, i would go with the leds just bc of the shimmer look and watt consumption.

Not entirely true imo. Just need to know how to use the camera. Not saying you cant use a camera Thai. Good pics can be taken under led lighting. I use two 12" stunners on my 72 gallon. Gives better light for pics in my opinion.

lol, just giving you a hard time b/c I'm jelly of your camera skills. :)

Honestly, even t5s are weak if you have 1-2 bulbs.

Really need MH or else flash is a must.

A super fast lens can make up for weak lights. Something like 1/4f or 1.8k may do the trick.

OK not doing a wet dry cause i dont have one, and to up and buy one is a bit pricey. The tank isnt drilled for one and i dont want a huge box in the tank. So back to the point here about the lighting. If i went t5 i may do a 2 four buld 36'
