What camera to get?

What type of use wide angle, distance, close up shots, combination of all three? I have found out that one ends up with several lenses for different uses. A 24 - 80mm or there about generally works for a general lens for me. Just remember that the larger the physical diameter of the initial objective lense the more light is available for the shot. sunrise

ok just bought a used 50D for ...............................$700 w/ 3 years of a 4 year best buy warenty left Jackpot. Now i just have to learn how to use the damn thing.

Personally I have seen the pictures from the 50d and they are superior in quality compared to my Rebel XT. The 20d was the "same specs" as the Rebel XT and still the 20d took better pictures I thought. My friend bought a 50d when it came out and like ssrprelude, wow, there is a significant difference. When I have the money I want to change over from the Rebel line to the d line.. Just a better camera. I like the features that the rebel has over the d line, but since I wouldnt use it for filming (at least not for the starting part) I find that I would rather spend the money on the d style camera's

Outside the U.S. the Rebel is part of the D line. My Rebel XS is also sold as the 1000D.

I currently have the XS and would like to upgrade to the t2i solely for the video option. That, or just go get a flip-cam.
