  • Fish Picture Noob

So I finally got around to taking pictures of a freshwater tank (i'm a saltwater dude). It was a little bit harder than I thought it was going to be. Lighting was in the back so it caused the camera to underexpose the fish because the backwall was so bright.

i'mma just shoot to the right cuz everyone loves bright pictures.

    But....
    First thing first...

    Ok...... now time for pictures.

I think only cf for lightning on the tank. We then turned on 1 metal halide to get more light in.

I just used my Nikon D7000 with the nifty fifty f1.4 for most my shots. I busted out all my lenses but that one was my fastest aperture lens. I shot most the shots at f1.4 or f2.0 and tried to get shutter speeds above 160 to stop motion.

its ok. I have a love/hate relationship with it. It has a lot of bells and whistles but sometimes doesn't quite do what I want it to do. its holding me over til the next batch of cameras roll out.

I'm really looking forward to the Sony Nex 7 and the Sony A77. But we'll see.
