Much thanks! I don't think I could ever get back into reef, when doing reef I found myself more interested with the equipment than anything that goes inside the tank. It gets boring after awhile but now I figured I can just use all the reef gear on my FW tanks! LoL

Looking for more critique about the actual scape... something I can't crop out.

lose the zip ties on the bamboo stalks

try to cover up the eheim pipes on the left side. or split the floating plant to both ends?and have the leaves/roots coming in towards the center of the tank?

          180

move some of the smaller rocks on the left side towards the right side where theres like a small gap between front glass and rock... too much white sand showing empty space?

On this one I placed the rocks to have my main stone as you see on the left side with with the smaller accompanying stones surrounding it and the right side placement is to support the scape so in a sense they are just there to ease the scape. I tried avoiding having similar placements on both sides to keep from having a symmetrical layout while still having focal points.

The open space or sand on the right side was to help give a bit of depth to the scape if I took a side profile shot it would show, I had to move the right scape forward some to keep in perspective of the left side, I could move the right side further back and the left side would overpower the scape but would really give a great sense of depth on the right.

Thanks for chiming in. Got me looking at the whole thing now, nit picking it.

yeh i see what your trying to get. theres just sooo many viewpoints you know. in all honesty its all personal preference. you can't please everyone and anyone but you can still get people to somewhat "like" it.

BUT regardless i dont think you can go wrong with what you got now but for sure lose the zip ties..they really stand out. use super glue.

agree, would like for it to appeal to the masses which is why I'm open for some suggestion on it.

As for the shrimp tank, I might just use the photo of only the scape. The zip tie was used when they were still floating LoL been lazy

I like 'em both, dude...minus the zip tie.

On the 180 I'd just do a little tweaking of the larger rocks surrounding the big one. I'm feelin' a lack of flow. To me it looks like it wants to flow toward the front/right a little more, with the little separation between the rock piles running to rear/left.

The planted tank is the shizznizzle.

I really, really like both the scapes, Q. Agree with what people have commented on so far too. Will look at 'em more closely if work EVERRR settles down.

I agree, in person it's not as bad but definitely could use bigger cajones

I think I need to go digging in the secret garden again cause the rocks only look good where they are at and are busted looking if flipped to the other side.
