  • 90 gallon Reef

Moving over from the nano thread. Started with a 20 Long. I acquired a 90 for free and decided to switch everything over. So here she is in all her glory!

    Stock list so far includes;

    1 Maroon Clown
    1 Ocellaris Clown
    1 Blue Spotted Watchman Goby
    1 Yellow Tang
    5 Green Chromis
    1 Yellow Tail Damsel
    1 Coral Banded Shrimp

1 RBTA (hosted by the maroon)
    1 green tree coral
    Few frags Pulsing Xenia
    Blue Xenia
    3 Colt Corals
    Hawiian feather duster
Frag of Pink and Orange Zooanthids
    Tons of Green Star Polyps
100 lbs or so of live rock

Over the next 6 months I plan on loading it up with more corals. Probably won't do much more fish. Maybe one or two more. Really looking forward to making this thing beautiful! Here are some pictures!

Seems like the beginnings of an epic reef!

      What LEDs are those?

How are they holding up on the deeper tank?
I ate my fish that died.

They are the ones from china. Compared them to a couple different ones and these things put out some serious light at about half the cost. I picked up the pair for 200 bucks. In the picture the whites and the blues on each are at about 50% power. Trying to acclimate the corals to them. Everything seems to be thriving. Don't have a PAR meter but it seems to be penetrating down to the bottom pretty well. I have a small frag of Zoanthids that my turbos knocked down there and they are doing great. They have a pretty good spread and seem to be hitting every spot in the tank with ease. Time will tell the durability on them, but for now I couldn't be more impressed with their performance.

Awesome. For 200 to LED light a 90g tank, that's tough to beat. I would consider taking off the glass lids, you'll get more light into the tank since less will be reflected. Also... open top tanks are win

Funny that you said that, because I took them off about an hour after I hung the lights and took the picture. Looks a ton better. Just was trying to cut back on evaporation. I had them off before and it seemed like my ATO was running constantly. But oh well. When it comes to beauty, sacrifices must be made! Haha

Will have to check funds. Wife would kill me if I spend anymore money on fish. :)
