Sharing a photo of Black calvus in my tank

Not sure what specie he is but I think he's beautiful. Got him at Extreme Fish and Pet about 3 years ago when he was about 1.5". He is now 4".

Black Calvus...I bought a nice WC pair from Jamal @ That Aquarium place on Tuesday...Very nice fish if you are patient enough for their slow growth...Hopefully the calvus and compressiceps I bought will eventually breed for me...

Yes, they grow painfully slow, but it's well worth the wait.

My calvus looks like yours when preside over lighter substrate. It kind of has a yellowish face and head with poping black and white pokey dots on the body. Maybe mine is also an inkfin?

It changes constantly. When I have driftwood in the tank occasionally, it turns brownish. All about the mood and surroundings!

That's really cool. It's a "moodometer". You can tell when he's happy. Smart fish.
