I would recommend holding off on the D800 until they get the left AF focus point issue resolved..
I have it on my D800 and it is frustrating..

I am holding sending it off to Nikon until there is confirmation that they have a fix for it.

Why? lol I don't remember anything particularly that special about the d800.

i'm just waiting for them to fix all their problems.

D800 and 5dmkiii has a few problems right now. Just like when the d700 and 5dmkii just came out. D700's high iso banding, and 5dmkii black dot problems. Now its d800 left focus point misalignment, and 5dmkiii top lcd light leak affecting exposure.

I don't mind buying a nikon later on, I just don't remember anything particularly that special about the d800. If anything, the best bang for the buck deal on full frame right now is the 5dmkii. d700 still going for more than 2000. 5dmkii ranging from 1500-1700.

p.s. the more megapixels, usually means you'd have to use better glass.

          p.s. SONY FOREVA!

              Lol, yeah!

More magapixels mean better camera. The picture is more clear with more pixels. Makes logical sense to me.

Not true.. Just compare a a high megapixel P&S with a D300/D700 or even D200 and the lower MP DSLR will blow the high megapixel P&S out of the water..

Getting ready for this year's diving trip..

Although this is the smallest diving outfit available.. its still a bit too big in my opinion as you can see compared to the D800

P&S cannot beat a dslr with less megs.

Um, yup. You can. Many of the newer higher end point and shoots will beat older DSLRs in DR, IQ, and CA. Maybe not the D700, but I can accept that a D200 could be beat on technical merits. Granted, you aren't going to have the artistic flexibility with a p&s that you get with a high end DSLR.

Yes, you can. Adapters are made. What you can't use is a EF/EF-S on a Nikon because the physics won't work.

I recently manned up and purchased a Canon 60D, Canon 65mm MP-E, and Canon MR-14EX to compliment my Nikon macro setup.
