Whats does 36.3 MP resolution look like??

For those who are curious to what 36.3 MP really does, here is an example..

Below is an image I took of my daughter. Notice the red line I drew around her eye.





The crop below is a straight 1:1 pixel crop of the approximate area in red.
If you look in her pupils, you can see myself standing and taking her picture and the neighborhood's reflection in her pupil.
This is straight from camera without any sharpening..
Thats the resolving power of the D800's 36.3 MP.. Lens used was the 70-200 VRII

That 70-200mm vrII is an awesome lens. I had one last year, it always surprised me when I can nail 1/15 shutter at 200mm handheld.

I also had the 24-120mm and the vr on the 70-200mm kicked its butt even though they were suppose to be the same vrii
