Thinking upgrading from a D90 to ?

So I have been practicing and learning about taking pictures and I feel like it is time to move on from my D90 to maybe a D600 or D800.

I know some of you have D800's does anyone one have a D600?

Or should I just stick to my D90 since it is just a hobby and I am not taking pictures to make money.

Yea I really want to go full frame. So I am thinking D600. I have a few FX lenses already so I need to start saving my nickels.

I agree, the D600 might be the better choice. I think there were a couple of features where it had better results than the D800.

Yea I have been reading about both bodies. I think the D600 is right for me.

Avoid the d600 lol...
Even the new batchs still get oil leak and attract dust so eazy on the cmos..

Happened to almost everyone of my friends that bought the d600..most of them bought it after nikon says they fixes it (very recent batchs). And they had to send them back to nikon for the free fix/clean. When some of them got it back it was still dirty and the problems remained..i think it was a design problem..not saying 100% of them got these problems but from what i can see most of them do..those says it doesnt might havent use the shutter enough for it to start leaking oil..or maybe they can't really tell the little dust from the cmos..to me it is a very major problem lol..i am a canon guy but i dont hate nikons..d90 and d7000 imo are the best apsc cameras at its time...hope the d7100 just annonced will be as good!

I have both the d800 and d600. Yes my d600 has the dust/oil issue, but it's a non issue for me as I clean my sensors about once every couple months on all the cameras. If you changes lenses a lot outside like I do, dust will get on the sensor so a cleaning is required anyways. As for which one, if I could only have 1 camera, it will be the d800 over the d600. There's just so many things better on the d800 over the d600. As far as noise and IQ, the d800 is the better camera. There are reviews out there that shows the d600 as having less noise than the d800, but it is almost indistinguishable between the two when compared at full res on both cameras. However, downsize the d800 to 24mp like the d600 for an apples to apples comparison and the d800 IQ clearly better. If focus speed and accuracy is crucial in what you do, the d800 is a much better choice. Add the grip and in DX Mode, the d800 does 6fps and with it's HUGE buffer, it's also a much better fast action camera as well. So in short, you can't go wrong with either, but if you can, go for the d800 over the d600.
