They really are amazing fish, I just hope you the best of luck at keeping them.
If you have not read this...quite interesting history and attempts at breeding them.
Boulengerochromis microlepis is, with a maximum adult length of about 70 cm, one of the biggest (maybe even the biggest) cichlids in the world. It is a notorious predator which catches its prey by pursuit. There are a few reports about its breeding technique in its natural environment but these are somewhat contradictory, this article reports on probably the first successful reproduction of this cichlid in aquarium
70-90cm, 2-3 ft fish..
read it like 3 or 4 times already plus other crap
right now i am feeding shrimp to bring out the yellow but they eat just about anything you throw at them
and i doubt they will get 3ft due to being in a tank for most of there life or at least until they hit someones pond

They look very nice!Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
