  • Attack!!!

I just put 4 goodsized Julidiochromis in my 125g with the Juvie Mpimbwe and they are all under attack.

At first i thought, "gotta let em work it out", but now my Fronts are literally trying to eat the Juli's.
The Calvus and the Brichardi ignore the little guys, but i was unaware that they were on the Frontosa's list of favorite foods. Has anybody else heard this? Can i do anything to keep them from becoming an expensive snack?

i dont have anywhere else to put them. i have bigger Fronts in my other tank. I have a ton of hiding places for them with all the river rock, but they wont stay in the cracks. they keep hanging out in the middle of the tank. Oh well.....lesson learned

i dont really have alot of options for rearranging. I tried to spread the rocks out, i've tried bigger piles, smaller piles, these guys are doomed. I've never seen my fronts act like this.

I had a 3/4" moba fry escape from one of my floating nurseries. He was out in the open for awhile and my larger wc and F1 mobas swam up to check him out. That little fry swam away using warp-drive. He hid in the holey rock caves and would only come out to eat after that. He's about 1 1/2" and hanging with the big boys and girls in the 180g.
180g Oceanic w/colony of 8 WC Moba Fronts (1m/7f) purchased from TNT Cichlids in Jan '05 & numerous fry. 1 F1 adult moba male. 2 2217 Eheims, 2 6080 Tunze Streams, WISA airpump, single stage Johnson ETC.....fishkeeping since 1988.

                          oh man, that sucks!
go to walmart or petsmart and buy a small breeder net, and put the julies in that until you can figure out what to do with them.
maybe you could get a 20g long or something for them.
but dont just let them die.
