Hey all. Just curious if anyone knows of a lfs that generally has a good selection of lake victoria/kyoga/george etc cichlids? im talking ones like:

    Red Pseudonigricans
    Ruby Green
    Red Back Scraper
    Crimson Tide

Are these just too hard to find to be in a local store? Also looking for kyoga flameback, xmas fulu pairs...I only frequent a couple lfs in my nw area so i'm not familiar with a lot of the places in houston...

I believe Charles down at Fish Ranch in Rosenberg brings in some Victorians from time to time. I would give him a call and ask him or look for Marauder_78768 (I think this is how you spell his name) They are the one and same..

Houston has never been too big on Vics for whatevre reason. I've noticed some nice Vics at Fish Gallery from time to time. Dave Schumacher (www.davesfish.com ) frequently carries a nice variety, but is in San Antonio. You could get some quality Victorians from the members of HCCC (Hill Country Cichlid Club). I used to have some Christmas Fulus a while back, but forgot who I gave them to...

Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I would consider Dave's Rare Aquarium Fish in San Antonio. I just checked his list price list..... which is usually up to date... and he has all that you inquired about. I have included a link below.

I alway just put mine in an insulated cooler/ styro box. I've done it over a dozen times with no problems. Just tell whomever bags up the fish that you won't be home for three hours.

Since Dave packs with 100% O2 the fish will last about 24 hours in the bag unless, they are exposed to excessive heat / cold. Like Arm says make sure you bring a cooler / Styrofoam cooler with you and make sure you have the lid with you. You dont want to transport the guys in the light. (in darkness they will be calmer and not as stressed.)

I saw some Vics at Fish Ranch II the other day. Nothing too special though. Also I usually see some out at Ultimate Fish off 2920.
