The crimson tide looks good. Take some pics of your fish when you get a chance.

heres a few pics. 3 of the anchor island, 1 of the dolphin, and you can KIND of see the crimson tide in one picture....i was wary of putting the dolphin w/ the vics but i tried it out and its worked well so far. very quiet and peaceful tank. i got 2 vics/1 mbuna/1 ca cichlid in the same tank and all get along very well. its great news for me. i couldnt really get the crimson tide he keeps hiding back there...actually, he stays like right next to my dempsey sometimes and the dempsey is about 8 times his size LOL. but jack doesnt mess with any of them at all. its good news. anyway here u gooooo! theyre all kinda camera shy right now...
edit: in the 4th picture, if you look just barely above the anchor island you can see the tiny head of the crimson tide.Last edited by akfa; 04-11-2009, 05:57 PM.

More sources and some males for sale or trade
California Cichlids has a good selection both at the web site and on Aqua Bid. Joe is one of the first breeders to sell F1 in the US. He is easy to deal with and reasonable. I have two breeding groups from his shop and am in the process of ordering more females. My males are rough on them and if I add more I hope to spread the aggression around. Use the longest tank you can! Anything under 48 inches is too small! I have a Male 3 inches or so available and another if he survives!!!!! Picture is my alpha male!Attached Filessigpic

Not a bad idea! Lord only knows they need support groups! The lake is fading away. A natural thing but the fish are beautiful. Since moving mine into a long tank, my alpha male has ceased to hide and is constantly patroling from one end to another and now I have two females with eggs. I am adding cover plants this week in prep for the babies. My Xistochromis are more visible as I moved and modified their tank the other day. They are not as aggressive as Pundamilla. I am redesigning a tall 40 adding stacks of bamboo, flower pots, driftwood and lots of Java moss and Java fern in a pebble sized gravel. Waiting for water to stabilize before moving them.
I am looking at several vendors for other Vic's. Some of the Haplochromis are fine. I would also be interested in some comanion fish from the same area. Let me know if you deciede to start a special interest group.
