I would like to get more flow in the tank and replace the xp3 with an overflow/sump, but I gots bills to pay first!

Yep, I got these fish from CichlidFan about 2weeks ago. sorry for not mentioning that before. There are 30 of them in total.

Good Luck with fry, I hope the dubs get busy for you....Maybe you can invite someone over to help you sex them, maybe trade or move a few males out....???

I have noticed that there are a few more males than I would actually like...but I have seen zero aggression in this tank. I have one male that dominates the right side of the tank and another one that dominates the left side of the tank. everybody else tends to stay in the middle.

If they are co-existing I would leave them be for now since this is your first colony.

Learn with them and when you are ready then decide whether you want to vent and cull males. IMO it would be best to just go ahead and leave them be since they have established themselves as a colony.

yeah those two dominant males do their little "shaking" dance with different females ALL DAY LONG!!! Then they will lay on their sides almost and spin in a circle with the female. no clue as to whether they are actually gettin busy or not.

That's the process.... now as far as them actually sealing the deal is the question.
