Missing Female calvus ?!

okay ... my female is missing ... I last saw it a few days ago and now no trace of her ... i've check everywhere even on the floor, thats kinda sad ... !?

That sucks!! I lost one of my Fronts and found it behind the tank a couple of weeks later. Fish jumped out, since I've covered the back. I hope your is still in the tank.

i'm pretty sure it cant jump out ... the tops cover everything !

could be hiding, any breeding shells in the tank? I have had females hide out in breeding shells for quite some time.

there are 2 breeding shell in there. but I checked with a flash light and see nothing. lets just hope my eyesight is a lil impaired

i have a male calvus that goes missing every once in a while i usually find that he has buried himself underneath some of the rocks. he actually digs a hole in the sand and hides for days. good luck on the search

Chances are, she is just hiding...Especially if she cant physically jump out.

They like to hide inside the little caves inside of holey rock. Mine used to do it all the time, especially during water changes.

If there is a small space where she can go, calvus when they breed will wedge themselves into the nook where they will look over their eggs while the male guards outside. I would wait a few days, she will come back out :) hopefully with some babies in tow

Those shells will hold her without you knowing!

So many Neothauma shells I have had recieved where the bag was full of dead shelldwellers and even a small catfish once.
