do they change the pH even know i already have high pH?

Seachem Malawi buffer
Seachem Tang buffer
Epsom salt
Oceanic salt mix

Also use...

Brightwells cichlidcode
Brightwells Iodion
Brightwells AminoOmega
Sodium Ascorbate Crystalline powder


These will replenish the nutrients and minerals that we as hobbyist cannot test without breaking the bank. The whole pH part I don't care for much cause like you stated our water is fairly decent but it does raise it slightly in some places.

The pH will only stay high if the water is buffered and clean since unbuffered water will just come crashing down and a dirty tank will do the same.
