you guys give me more $hit about that sponge filter. Dan convinced me to put one in my tank, and ever since i put it in there, the water stays crystal clear. I promise its coming out. I'm in the process of setting up a new tank tonight so i'll post some pics tomorrow.

Not knocking you but that water looks far from clean.

You can accomplish the same or better with a canister filled with poly filter but at the same time not distract from the overall appearance.

Makes or brakes a tank scape IMO.

I think you may have on your beer goggles. i am so psycho anal about this tank, if even one tiny turd is left on the bottom, i'm sucking it out. Maybe i should turn the flash off or something, but i promise my water is crystal clear. i kinda feel like sack whackin you right now.

I would relocate the heaters to one of the dark corners of the tank. This way when the lights are on they are not illuminated so much and out of sight.

I agree with all the sponge filter haters out there, I would ditch it for a canister or even HOB filled with Floss. The upgrade will provide a lot more function to your filtration needs than a bubbler and sponge and be much more pleasing to the eye and quiet.(canister)

In the first pic the water looks kinda hazy.

Front I think stacked slate or sand stone would look better than the pebbles but its your tank do what makes you happy. In regards to the heaters do like Geoff states or get a Hydor inline. One of the best inventions in my opinion for a show tank. Looks good otherwise.

thats a great idea about he heaters, i dont know why i didnt think of that. I'm seriously in the process of hunting down some canisters. Money is a little tight at the moment, so i'm having hell finding ones that are in my budget. I agree, the first pic does look cloudy, but i think its b/c i had just used windex and maybe it wasnt all the way dry yet. you can come over and see for yourself.

Make sure the windex doens't get into the tank.... that stuff will kill fish.

Or you can buy the new "windex" that is fish safe. I just do the good old spray on a paper towel away from the tank and then go to work

i just bought this spray that a door to door sales guy had and he drank some of it right in front of me. He told me it was safe for fish tanks before he knew i had a fish tank, so i bought it. It's a pretty good product.

F it! if the guy drank some he's one helluva salesman!

Guess that's what the Recession does to people, sounds like a good product to use then.

Maybe he had water and the thing he sold you is the real thing. Have you tried drinking it?
