Aggrofishkeeper, if you love aggressive fish, trophs may be for you. But you have to realize that it's a different type of aggression. Many New World cichlids are carnivores, and almost all the big ones are hugely territorial. Trophs are aggressive towards each other, but are mostly passive toward other fish. They would never compete with the bigger cichlids. I have to say though, the Chipimbis I used to have would jaw-lock and put on spectacular fights amongst themselves that would make a Jaguar Cichlid proud!

Tropheus are mostly agressive towards each other, but territorial males will chase off anything that tries to invade a territory. They may not always win, but their tenacity usually prevails over larger fish.

Sigh, I have a bunch of SA/CA cichlids that I've raised from 1inch to 9-10 inches and I hate to see them go. But I want a more colorful tank now.

                              otherwise...

Beauty is in the eye of beholder.

I personally believe that Mpulungu is the best most colorful tropheus from Alpha to Omega fish.

I dont really care for most the rainbow types, and shoot for the oddballs and exotics. So its really up to your tastes and what you want.
