Anyone with tips for stacking rocks?

I'm sorry about your short arms! You can try to use a towel to act as a basket as you lower the rocks down gently and remove the towel once they are safely in! I hope that helps!

I could definitely use some help! I finally got my husband to do a little, but he complains about his back and the water and... well, this isn't his hobby.

I've been up all night working on these rocks. Got them in the tank in the manner I had laid them out on the floor. And just hated it. It looked hideous!

So out the rocks went.

I've cleaned the tank up. Had a scare when I saw what I thought was a crack on the bottom, but it turned out to be some silicone. I decided to go ahead and put a layer of sand down that's no taller than the egg crate in hopes it will help me from destroying this tank. I'm filling it with water again.

It's not looking like I'll have fish in the tank by tonight as I had hoped. I'm just not a rock scaper.

Yes, I could use help. I've been at this for over a day, and I'm still sitting here with a tank full of water and a floor covered in rocks. I can't seem to get it right.

I had a layout in mind, and both problems happened. It didn't turn out well because it just won't work and I couldn't get the rocks right.

The rocks looked like a mess. They didn't look natural at all. Too many rocks turned too many ways. I keep trying, but I just can't seem to get it to look good.

But there is some good coming from it all. I think I'm gaining muscle from moving these rocks around so much!

I just did it again. I stacked them on the floor and thought I had it figured out, but when I tried to put them in the tank, you'd swear the rocks changed on me! Now I'll have to pull the rocks back out and try it again.

I think I just developed a new exercise program!

Finally! I have rocks in my tank! After about a gazillion tries, I finally got rocks in the tank in a manner I'm willing to live with. It's not great, but it's better than what I came up with before.

Now to put sand in! I am soooo thrilled to finally get the rocks finished!

yeah you should start you own little journal thread and just update as you progress. I did that with my 210gallon and I just updated it tonight with pics of my rock work.

I'll start a journal thread and post pics there. The water has cleared up overnight so things are starting to go smoothly now that I finally finished the rocks!

I like stacking rocks. I start with 3 big base rocks. for the bottom. One in the middle and 2 that are just a few " off the sides. I make sure I have nice flat rocks. Also I make sure no rocks are touching glass.
