I took this to mean the samething as the others before you posted, said that spending $100 on a couple Aqua Clear 110's and a Modified MaxJet 1200 was a minimal approach that was neglecting the fishes.
If that is not what you meant, sorry.
Love you man...:)
It's all good as long as folks take care of their fish. It sucks to find out that your loses are due to you not doing what you needed to do in the first place regarding equipment. I'm not referring to neglect but just the lack of knowledge and shared experiences.

Just a quick question - why not fill your 125 with tropheus? Are you selling it for more room? Just wondering, because a 125 would be more room to play with than a 75. And the tropheus would love it. :)"Millennium hand and shrimp!"

well, my room is 12'x14', and the 125g takes up a but load of space.
i would like another 4ft tank in its place.
i was thinking of getting a 120g 4x2x2
i have always wanted a 120 4footer.
i would do a straight trade for the 125g tank, stand, and fish for a 120g 4 ft. tank and stand.FRENCH FRY!!!

Saltwater has a great advantage over it cause it keeps from having dead spots with the great undertow it greats and the random flow greatly helps the growth of corals.
I went pretty deep into reef tanks and applied what I learned to Tangayikans and it worked out really well for me so just replying from my personal opinion.
There are other options to the Vortech but I really like what they have to offer and customer service is superb so I'm a customer!.700g Mini-Monster tank

I would give customer service a B+ right now. Seems like it depends on who you speak with.
TT, you sound like me a long time ago. I sold my 2-6' 125s for 3-4' 120s. I've never 2nd guessed it, and prefer the added height and width that I'm now getting.300+RR (8-10 ft x 30"x30") - Waiting to find it... Lake Tanganyikan

Customer Service gets an A+ from me.
I was calling them with questions before I even got my vortech and they were helpful!
A while ago there was a gen 1 for sale on marsh and I was going to buy that and upgrade it to gen 2. The customer service people spent as much time on the phone with me as I needed to explain to me the process and cost.....I wasn't even a customer yet!I ate my fish that died.

ok, my 75g now has the following.
2x Eheim 2217's
1x Koralia 3 - looking for another.
and ~120lbs of Texas Holy Rock.
i have the rock seperated into 2x large piles, one on each end of the tank. i am thinking now that i want a single tall piece in the middle to help break the line of sight.
the substrate has been removed, except for a small sprinkling on the bottom of the tank which i was to lazy to get out.
for lighting im using a 48" Coralife Deluxe Lunar Aqualight with 4x 65watt pc's
2x 10,000K, 2x Actinics, and 3x 3/4 watt Blue Moon Glow LED's.
i am now looking into a background for it.
i am thinking either solid Blue or solid Black.
i am leaning more towards blue.
i will post pics when its done.FRENCH FRY!!!

1) it can go according to plan and the big rock does help break the line of sight and this will lower aggression.
2) a male will set up shop. The aggression increases for the others because there is no where to go.
I personally would not set up three rock piles in a 75g. I had three males hold down caves in a 75g before and it was not good for the others. When you have rock piles on each side, the two males will keep the group in the middle and aggression will spread out.
I have seen both work. Just letting you know what happen to me. It's a small tank so watch the colony closely.
Post pictures already Brian! This thread is all talk......talk is cheap.I ate my fish that died.
