  • Pseudotropheus Demasoni - LFS???

I have visited almost a dozen LFS's in the Houston area in search of Pseudotropheus Demasoni without any luck. Does anyone know which if any LFS might have some of these?

Try Daves Rare Fish in San Antonio.

Fish Gallery does get them when available.

Fish gallery gets them and asks a pretty penny for them.
Fish Land on westheimer gets small ones in every once in a while.

When you say "Pretty Penny" are we talking a light spanking or forced jailhouse loving?

I ask because of the responses I have recieved they are closest as I live 60 miles south of Houston. Also they did not have any 2 weeks ago, but did say they get fish weekly.

I would suggest call before you go. Their price is not too bad as long as you dont want to put the time in to find it cheaper. You can find it cheaper but if you want it now and they have it... then its kind of like a trade off.

I saw a whole tank full of them at Fishland just a couple of days ago. 1'' to 1.5'' and around $3 to $4

                      unhealthy fish from Fishland???

I use to buy from Fishland because of the pricing and being close to home. Cichlids are bright, colorful and healthy until I bring them home. Two to three weeks later, they all are dead or the looses their color. I don't know what it is but all my other fish that I buy from anywhere else in Houston are fine, except for those at Fishland. I occasional stop by and loose in my battle of will to buy.

                        Thanks to everyone

I ordered six P. Demasoni from Dave's Rare Aquarium Fish in San Antonio. They arrived yesterday, unfortunately two of them were DOA. Dave was very kind about and agreed to refund my money for the two that didn't make it. However after seeing the new posts on this thread this morning I picked up two more at City Pets. Oddly enough I had visited both City Pets and Fishland a couple weeks ago and neither had them. Thanks to everyone for helping me find the fish I wanted.

                          Hey, Gene.
I was just at Ultimate Fish today and purchased 10 demasoni's for my office tank. There are two tanks full at this time. They are about 1.5 to 2 inches and they are $7.99 each.

+1 on Demasoni in office tanks.

I've got em (11) in a 36 bow front with a big piece of holey rock.

Seem to be developing pretty nicely.
