    They can go with anything from what I have read. Most of the problems was with feeding.... I don't think I will have a problem in that area since I don't really care if the eel takes a few fry for food nor do I feed my trophs cheap flakes so both ends are good.

    The eel is living with my Ilangi colony for right now.

                          Nice, but I got any they'd end up facing the impeller in the HOB filters just like the river eels I previously had.  :(

                            I don't think that would be a problem as long as you have the strainer on the intake.

                            I have 2 Tunze powerheads in the tank and they have open outputs and intake like a beast and it has been able to avoid the blender.

                            I did almost crush it under this 50+lb of rock while moving it around earlier though....

                              The eels I had must have  swam up the exhaust/waterfall, then slithered over the filter cartridge to meet their demise. And that's with a bio-wheel in place.

                                Snapped a quick shot of my eel in it's home... had to hit her with the flash since the cave is shadowed but here she is in full on fry eating mode!
