the rock may brake the undergravel platform if you put a lot of rock in there. egg crate is cheap but really helpful.

cause what i keep thinking is if i use eggs crate for long time all the waste will build up in there for time to time and it really hard to clean plz give me advice

you can vacuum your gravel when you do water change. i realize that even though i used the undergravel filter, i still had to vacuum the gravel to make it clean.

Depending on what substrate you have in there you might have to clean it.. but then again I do a every year a complete deep clean, remove everything clean and return it back, and start over. This way I ensure that stuff that has been there for a long time has been removed. Some people like to do that.. others dont...
