  • Who keeps Ophthalmotilapia Nasuta "Green Tiger Magara"

If anyone here keeps this fish, I'm trying to get some info on them. I'd like to know how long it takes for the males to start showing the long fins and protruded nose. I've had mine for about a year. Got them as juveniles at 1 1/2".

Let me start off by saying that I have never kept nasutas.

With that said, how big are they now, how many do you have, and what are the tankmates (if any)?
    Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

I have three and they are 3-4" now. I'm keeping them with a pair of juvenile Black Calvus. It's a very peaceful combo so far.

Thanks for the info jughead. Sounds like you know your nasutas. Do the males and females look completely alike up until the fins start getting longer on the males? I'm trying to figure out if i have at least a male and female out of the three. If I don't, I want to get some more of these guys soon, if I can find them. Heck, I'd like to get some more either way!

You think phan22201 is willing to part with her? What happen to the rest of your group?

                      I'm sure he will...

The group was bought as dithers for my Cypho.Moba group since they did so well with the Giant Danios I had in there before... but eventually the group got knocked out one by one.
