  • Pseudotropheus Demasoni in a 62?

How many Pseudotropheus Demasoni do you think would be too many? I do weekly water changes on all my tanks sometimes more. I have just hob filters might upgrade. tell me what y'll think. I can get 20+ 2''-2.5'' for $2/ and i thought that was a good deal. B.T.W. my tank is 48 x 13 x 23.5

It will work as long as you have a bunch of rocks. Demasoni are pretty "mean" little fellas. I've noticed that the females can be just as mean to each other as the males are with each other. I personally would get the 20 fish and weed out all but two or three males. Keep in mind that Demasoni will breed like rabbits and start early. I have had 1.5" females spit fry.

      I agree with Dave.

I don't want to dispute others experience but I have not seen the legendary aggression that everyone claims of these fish. I have six in a 56 gallon with 12 other Mbuna and have not had any aggression issues. Believe it or not the dominant fish have been the largest Maingano and Yellow Lab males in the tank.
        120g - Tropheus Moorii Kambwimba
        180g - Petrochromis Macrognathus Dine/Tropheus Moorii Namansi I

20-25 sounds about right. Up your filtration game would be a good idea also.

          I've always liked these fish.
I ate my fish that died.
