Stay with Geo's, and save money for large 4ft or a samll 6ft, and then set that tank up and get 25 fish Colony started in whichever tank you setup.

see, the problem is im only 18 and i still live with my folks until i move out next year and my dad HATES fish. i cant get anymore tanks so id have to get rid of the ones i have. i might be able to pull off getting rid of all my tanks except for my 90g and get a 75g but that would be it

I don't have trophs....and here it goes, Don't want any either....*ducks as various items are chunked at my head*. I like my livebearers, plecos and the occasional betta(females only for some reason). Don't get me wrong, they are beautiful fish, but not for me. Unless it is something you TRUELY want...don't do it just cause the popularity seems to rule. The only other fish I have right now side the ever many guppy and pleco, is a few oddball loaches, and some red headed tapajos(geos)....which half of them are soon to be rehomed.

I am still Troph less more because I am not allowed to as opposed to wanting it. I could always kick my wifes fish to the curb and spring some trophs in the 90G without her knowing. hmmmm

I think that with Tropheus, as with ANY other fish, no matter how much you want them, you have a responsibility to them once they're in your care. If getting a proper set-up for them isn't possible yet, I think it's only fair to the fish to wait until you have the means to house them to the best of your ability and in the way they need and deserve. Otherwise you will find yourself with a bunch of unhealthy fish in a tank too small for them OR with a big tank with tropheus and missing your geos.

After all, if you want them THAT badly, you'll still want them after you move into your own place and can get the tank that's best for them.

lol i already said in previous pages that if i cant house them properly then im not gonna get them....and its not the popularity of them...it was when i bought a pleco from newb and saw his tanks at his apartment...THATS when i knew i wanted trophs...i didnt even know what they were at that point and had never seen them before...i had no idea they were so popular
