MIA female gold occie

My female gold occie has dissapeared.
I looked everywhere, but can't find her.
I took the shells out and left the water in them, and put them under the light to see if I could see her in there.
I saw what looked like her silhouette in the very mide of the shell.
She doesn't come out though.
Could she be guarding/fanning eggs?
Plus the male is really aggressive and protective of the shell.

Yes, it is a possibility.

Another possibility is that she is trying to get away from the evil person shining a light at her. Yet another is that she could be stuck. Time will tell.

It is a good sign that the male is aggressive though...

Lol,
I would never have done that if I I didn't think she was dead.
I hadn't seen her in over 48 hours, and she is almost
always outside with the male flirting with him.
So after 2 days of not
seeing her and not seeing her even come out for food I assumed the worst.
I LOVE those little fish.
The male like slams into the glass and flares his and raises all his fins like a hoss whenever I get to close to the tank.
He has also been chasing the male callochromis and Julie away from the shell that I believe the female may be in.
I guess only time will tell.
I hope she's not stuck:(

I told you these were shy fish. Sometimes my gold occie is nowhere to be seen for a few days, then reappears in plain view.
