I add epsom salt, baking soda and Instant Ocean at each weekly 50% water change in my 180g moba tank. I follow the directions found in the library section at the cichlid-forum website.
I pre-measured it for 45g and 90g. I've been doing this for about 5 years now.
I have a GE 2 stage filter. Testing the water after it runs through the filter shows it pretty much devoid of anything, and with a lower PH than the tap water also. I used it yesterday for a 70% WC in both tanks and the fish reacted wonderfully, compared to the last tap water WC. That time they looked 1/2 dead afterwards. So it looks like I"m gonna stick with the filtered water, I just don't want to deprive the folks of something they need.
It strips 100% of the chlorine. Pretty good filters, all in all. I didn't think they'd do as well as they did until I tested the output several times just to make sure.
