Thanks to the HCCC auction yesterday, I now have all three of my tanks re-stocked.
First, let me say sorry sorry sorry. No Tropheus! Nothing was really available in the numbers I needed.
But considering my goals, I think I did well.
In my 55 there is now a "breeding group" of Aulonocara stuartgranti "Cobwe." 1 great looking male, 3 females. Keeping them company for the time being are three Rustys and 3 small Yellow Labs. I planted this tank with an assortment of swords, anubias and some other misc. stuff.
In my 35 cube I put about 16 Pseudotropheus Saulosi, all 1" or less. This has two big pieces of holey rock that I also scored at the auction, plus a few smaller pieces I had. No plants. I know they'll outgrow this, but they should be OK until the males change color at least.
In my new 20L, the one that I intended to plant, I have another group of 6 Aulonocara stuartgranti (I can't remember the specific sub-species). These I would amost call fry, they are tiny and extremely cute. No threat to the plants for a good while. I have what should be a good start on plants, thanks to the auction and a generous local donor. Nothing like some of your "starter tanks" but I plan on a mail order ASAP for some teardrop and other fill plants.
I was hoping to see more equipment (filters) than what was at the auction, but I did get a large old HOB that was cheap, works and isn't too noisy if I keep it outside .
Thanks to everyone for all of their help with these decisions.
