and you have a point, like i said, i do not have much experience with trophs, im not here to argue troph care and setup. im taking a stab at all the people who are full of themselves and think they are the king of the playground with their tropheus and no one else is on their level. its annoying and as much as the issue is addressed people dont hesistate to keep up with the caste system of trophs.
    I make people happy

There isn't a single person on HFB who is "right" about anything. We can only share the personal experiences we have had. There was a time when I was like, "Pffft...this isn't hard! What's the big deal?" And then for some reason (I have never figured out what caused it), Trophs in one specific tank just started dropping off. I lost about 10 fish. I buy quality fish, feed them the right type of food (tropheus have a longer digestive tract than other fish, so you shouldn't feed them anything that isn't easy to digest), have proper filtration, and stay on top of maintenance...and it still happened to me.

I think that all of us 'elitists' are just saying that we've had years of experience with these fish and there are just a few things that you can do that will help you be successful with them. Are they hard and fast rules? No. And no one here is going to try and scare you away from Trophs. We LOVE adding more troph addicts to the group! We just want to make sure that you have all the information you asked for so you can make educated decisions.

      i'm never right

First, your experience is just as valuable as the next guy. You have short-term experience in conditions that tend to be less than ideal for some of the old-timers. <-- that is not a jab, just stating a fact. The bottom line is that your fish are still alive and appear to be thriving. That's great. The information you offer can be based around what you do that makes this scenario sustainable.

But taking a stab at someone because you don't like their attitude or advice is technically against the rules of this forum. I've read this entire thread and didn't see a post where anyone was rude or scary. In fact, I believe everyone was encouraging, but offering advice based on their experiences. This isn't going to stop since, well, this is a forum where we share our experiences and offer advice. Going forward, PM me if you have any issues, and I can offer some other solutions that will keep you from violating HFB rules.

          1) its not easy to find tropheus, have you ever waited on the line for several months to just get the tropheus you want???
          2) experienced people here are great to offer me free lessions. i appreciate all.
i just listen to people here, because some disasters may happen on me later.

Make your own thread bro. )

J/K, I really don't know what the hype is about. Keeping tropheus isn't really that hard. I don't think anyone say it's hard or tried to scare anyone off in this thread either. It's just like taking proper care of any other fish, feed them right and do your water changes. If it's anything that scares people away it's the cost of the dang fish. Losting 30+ WC fishes to bloat is never a good feeling....avoid if possible.

this thread just makes me think two things

Its kinda like riding a motorcycle its not if your going to fall off it is WHEN you are going to fall off.

Sure you can keep horses in a backyard of a house in a neighborhood ...but you just don't do it !
