i think the fact that you have an automatic feeder may help . normally when i walk up to the tank (unless they are very hungry) they all run to the back of the tank. if they got used to food just falling down they would more readily go after it knowing nothing is there to harm them. but idk for sure maybe something else entirely.

ha ha ha ..... pffft. they will really go after the food but i have to take a few steps back away from the tank b4 they really attack it and by then its on the sand.

All the fish but my Ujiji rush the glass at feeding time.

The ujiji for some reason, have always been a spooked fish. They're tank has always provided lots of cover, even substrate to try to help them, and still I've not gotten much improvement.

When I feed them I have to sit back and not go by the tank to spook them further.

i think they want to eat the flesh off your hand . do they ever bite you?

They come by and nibble a bit but haven't felt anything that I would worry about.

If anyone walks by the tank they all follow.

I think they have been conditioned for the most part to associate big moving blur with food.

Yeah I played with it last night at V's house.. showed him how to take a few pictures and what he was doing right and wrong. EK.. those pictures look awesome.. In a few weeks you will get the bug and pick up one of these to go with your camera, Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM lens (about $500 retail) and take some of those real up close and personal shots where you can see the fish in all its detail :)
