no water as of yet.still have to leak test plumbing should be ok.well the 20 gallon sump is what was available.ill look into the 38.i wanted a 40 gallon breeder tank.ill wait for petco 1 gallon sale and see if i can pick up a bigger sump in august.
tater tot difference in step up watt is 35 from a mag 12 to mag 18.so 35 watts x 24 hours x 365 days a year= 302400 watts. now a kilo watt being a thousand watts, lets say the average price per kilo watt is 18 cents and rising rapidly under this current politcal regime.the additional cost would be 54 dollars. i cant justify 54 dollars extra a year and rising for 600 gph more.i think i should get 1050 gallons pushed through with the mag 12 which would give me 7.7 turn over rate.plus from what i read a slower water flow through a wet dry gives more air and additional time for the benifical bacteria to do there job.blowing water though a wetdry may defeat the purpose.
but iam new to wetdrys so i may be wrong?

This is going to be the new sump on the 150gal. The stand is 24" and the 20gal tall leaves no room to do maintenance. The sump is a small foot locker I got from lowes on clearance for $9.00. Removed the hardware. Cheap pop rivets. Sealed the holes with silicone. I am going with micron socks and pot scrubbers. It's hard plastic and narrow. This might work for your sump.

This sump is 16" x 33". I plan on bulk heading to another sump that is 14" x 17" x11" tall. Put the pump in the smaller sump.

yeah 24 inch stand is nice.iam working with a 135 gallon though so 18 inch max under stand.20 gallon long stands 12 inches tall so no problem doing maintance.the 30 gallon long gives me 6 more inches and i think 40 breeder is 12 inches.38 gallon aquarium bad choice 16 inches tall, would have to remove tank for maintance,no thx.whats nice about glass tanks are you can see water level and pop on lexan cover to reduce evaporation.with that black plastic box the price is right but are you going to make a peep hole to see water level and use a flash light?
like i said when petco has the $1 a gallon sale in august ill step up and make this 20 gallon long into a hospital tank.
                thx
whats wrong with lowes buckets?should i have gotten the orange ones?any who back to work thx for the headsup!

yeah your right cichlid1409 the 40 breeder is 18 inches wide.inside stand is only 16 inches wide.thx for the heads up.i cant knock fshfrk idea of sump ether especially since everytime i read one of his links i learn something.lol
so i bought a 33 long sump but it dosent fit to long.here we go.now get in your holesump in use 20 long 30Lx12wx12h.sump desired 33 long 48Lx12wx13h.iam thinkin gota move aquarium from wall and possible through back side.to do this iam talkin 90% water change and i will not do that without a carbon filter of some kind which i dont have so project on hold.my fish have only been in tank 1 week so iam gonna wait few more weeks anyways to let them know there home is secure.90% water change on week old fish in new aquarium is like moving a new employee desk outside in the parking lot.:furious:
