I know that after my changes it take a day for all my fish to settle down.

really? my trophs start doin the dance when the refill water hits the tank.

just my 2 cents but if your waiting longer to do a water change don't you think you should change more water than the other tank your doing more often?

. If you have a tank say 75 gal. with 20 trophs. in it and a 200 gal. with 10 adult Front. IMO the 75 will require more water changes than the 200. I am not saying that changing the water every other day is wrong ( you can change it everyday if it works for u) just unnecessary. How often do you change the water in your dancing troph. tank?

sounds like pH .... i typically do a 70-80% water change once a week i do add a buffer (baking soda) 1 tablespoon per 10 gallons keeps the pH no higher than 8.2. IMO your almost wasting your time only doing 20%.

im not the only one on here that has that happen when they do a water change thats why i am surprised yours are not doing the same . when you give the stock list and the size of the tanks your WC routine makes sense.

its also been published in TFH that doing 70% weekly is really optimal.

My Fronts arent old enought yet to breed but they are much bigger than they should be the age they are. When I first got into the fish hobby, I bought 5 or 6 juvie Fronts. I sold them about 3 months later when I found the Mpimbwe. I kept one male from the original Burundi group. Now, 2 years later, I got my old group of Burundi back and they were all about 4" long. The male that I kept, is over 7" and they are all the same age. I credit the size to the amount of water changes I do.

I really think it was the PH level. All my fish are back to normal. I went bought some "Red Fin" conditioner so i'll be switching to that. I still have that mom in my little 6 gallon by herself. Im ready for her to spit out her hatchlings. I'm debating on taking them out by myself... Once again!!! THANX EVERYONE FOR THE HELP!!!

I've been away and just read this thread. What about temperature? I didn't see that mentioned, but I may have missed it. My fish did this when I inadvertently was over 3 degrees off with the new water (I do 50-75% changes). Took them about a day to start acting normal. Just a thought.

higher temp = lower O2 levels. then if your adding dechlorinator too, which further depletes O2 levels. you could easily have this problem
