  • They've been on a steady diet of NLS Thera A+ mixed with Dianichi XL Pro with Spirulina and Krill. Then a few times a week I give them fresh frozen krill as a snack. I'm starting to notice a purple tint in their colors. I wonder if its the fish or the food or both....

On these pics, the only editing I did was crop, exposure and a frame. I hope they continue to get some more purple in them.

Feedback is always welcome....especially the good kind. LOL.

hell yeah. I get more excited every day. I'm also using a natural light. I'm using one Marineland LED light fixture. No fancy bulbs or anything. I could be wrong or retarded but I swear that the mixture of the NLS and the Dianichi is what is causing them to stay this colorful all the time. My brother introduced me to the Dianichi about 6 months ago and I used it with my Mpimbwe and they also started showing better color.

Never heard of a front holding food in their mouth like that. You are feeding them the good stuff so they should color up nicely for you.

Are you feeding daily 1x, 2x? I feed only 1x daily in the evening and even skip a day or two during the week.

Pics are nice. Fish look great!

            • I started out feeding them twice a day but now its usually only once a day in the evening and every once in a while I toss in a Krill snack.

              • Got some new pics for your viewing pleasure. These were taken with a slow synchro flash...I'm not sure if I like it or not. It doesnt really get the exact color of the fish. My fish are way more purple than this in real life. Anyway, let me know what you think.

Almost looks like a Mpimbwe when they get startled. This one was in the process of coloring back up after I flashed him with the camera.

                • So I got a wild hair up my butt around 2am and decided to rescape my tank. There are two really nice tanks that I used as inspiration for this scape. Dan's Frontosa tank from HAW and my brothers' Tropheus Murago tank that Thai scaped. I liked the clean lines and fung shui of Dan's tank but I also like how natural my brothers' tank is.....soooo.....here is my version of those two tanks. Let me know what you think.

                  • that second fish picture is great! really shows of all the blue on the fish.

the scape needs more work. the left and right look too different, almost like 2 different tanks in one

                    • They kind of are two different tanks in one....but I dont understand exactly what you mean. The right hand side has a lot more medium and little peices of rock that arent visible because of the low light and the crappy camera. I wanted the right hand side to be the main focal point with large rocks and a small cave or two. The left hand side also has some bigger rocks in the background that arent visible for the same reasons but I was going for some small and simple so that the two sides werent competing for focus. I'm all for suggestions, so let me hear what you got.

Thanks man. Sell some of the Trophs and get you some Fronts. I know a guy on Frontosa.com that is selling some Frontosa Bismark fry right now at a good price. Very rare and beautiful

I like both sides but IMO together in the same tank i dont think they fit. i think it should be a more uniform style instead of 2 different styles.
