Stripping a Female

OK, so I stripped my Red Empress female. It's the first time I'd ever done it. She'd been carrying them for almost a month, so I was starting to wonder about her. I was gentle about it, although she wasn't too thrilled with me.

My question is, how do you know you got them all? I got 14 fry out of her.

You can always just keep dumping her in and out of the water.

I also thought it was fairly easy to tell when they weren't holding anything left.

I figured it out. I realized that I wasn't dipping her head in deep enough, but once I fixed that, the rest of the fry exited in fairly rapid fashion. I ended up with about 30. I was then able to hold her in such a way that I could see inside with the help of a small flashlight and see that she was done. Thanks for the help!
