I also like the looks of fronts on deep blue back ground, dark brown sand, and round rocks.

Mobas can be a bit skittish compared to other fronts. They can swim into rocks and cut their eye so round rocks will help avoid this.

I was thinking black sand, black background, and holy rocks with only big holes.

I like the black sand black background combo. Here is a picture of what my F1's looked liked before I killed them. This is not a full tank shot but you can still see how much blue they show on a dark setup.

You have already received alot of good info here regarding wc mobas. They are probably the most challenging cypho/front to breed......not to dissuade you. For your size tank I would go 2m/10f+. Start out with the best quality you can afford. I bought mine back in Jan 2005 from Tyrone at TNT Cichlids. He is a great communicator and shipper. I just purchased 3 nice wc females a few months ago and 1 has already spawned!!! Pretty cool.

If you need any help or advice, just shoot me a pm or post here. Not taking away from this site, but you can get alot of information at www.cyphos.com as well about mobas and other zaire varieties. I have been keeping fronts since 1988, but I have learned alot there and am still learning.

My 2 wc moba males are over 11"+. My wc moba mommas are anywhere between 5" to 8". I like using white sand........CaribSea's Aragonite Select and Texas Holey Rock with a light blue background. Just bought 4 50/50 lights and they are really choice.......they bring out the blues of the mobas even more.

I've got fry in my floating nursery that are on-hold for 2-3 customers and have 4 egg-bound F1's in the tumbler right now. Life is good my brothers.
180g Oceanic w/colony of 8 WC Moba Fronts (1m/7f) purchased from TNT Cichlids in Jan '05 & numerous fry. 1 F1 adult moba male. 2 2217 Eheims, 2 6080 Tunze Streams, WISA airpump, single stage Johnson ETC.....fishkeeping since 1988.
