I am wanting to find a male and female Labidochromis caeruleus (yellow Lab) to add to the tank. along with many more if you have some reasonable $ suggestions.

I'm going to guess....and say that 1 is a male and female arratus....2 is a female red jewel cichlid....3 & 4 are both blue haps...but am not sure.....

Sorry I can't be of more help to you, but there are several online sites that you can check out that will be more help.....

I have been using the profile section of cichlid forum, but it is huge. Thanks for your help though.

          2- jewel cichlid
3 and 4 - blue haplochromis both are males. females haps are ugly with no bright coloration.

                    I agree with Cesar . . . especially on #1

#4 could be a male peacock though.

Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

just a heads up. watch out putting the jewels with malawi mbuna and haps. I did it once and the outcome wasn't very good for the jewels.

The jewels are probable my least favorite of the group. I will see what happens. My blue hap. (smaller one) acts like a big scaredy cat even though he is the second biggest fish in the tank. he does not eat much and when he does he misses his attach at the food alot. I think he is special (road the short current to school).

I am looking for a pair of yellow labs ~2 inch if anyone has any and also any recommendations for other stock for my tank (need color). If you have anything in the 2-3 inch range with color or maybe some loaches or cool cats let me know (for reasonable price). I am on the south east side (NASA area) but work in the med center so can pick up after work.
Also, i still am still looking for an additional small canister filter and maybe some form of current movement if anyone has an old working one to sell.

Added another piece of drift wood today and a Koralia Evolution. The fish seem to love the extra current in the tank. They are swimming a lot more now. The funny thing is to watch several of the fish school up together below the pump, then all swim up into the current and rid it across the tank. There are also a few that will just swim up into the current and swim like in a personal lap pool (swim but not move).
