Petros of Malawi!

Looking for some info from the malawi experts.

I have always kept tangs.

From what I know, there is a petro type of fish found in malawi.

Any info, pictures, and videos you guys can post would help a lot.

I'm thinking of dedicating one of my tanks to malawi petros.

seen a few around here thai,not common by any means tho,think theirs larger and a smaller variants also like the simo's,think you'd want wild for size tho......

Are they really rare or just really kept?

There are no major political conflict in Zambia, Tanz, or Mozambique so we shouldn't face the some issues found in the Congo.

one of my buddys here said he could get some in,through his guy,so it cant be that tough,must be some availiblitiy on them,funny my buddy metioned them to me and i though he was talikn ish at first lol

But I think you missed mine.

With lake tang, tropheus are endemic all over the lake. So by no means are they rare in numbers.

However, there is political conflict in the congo. I don't expect them to stop fighting any time soon.

This makes tropheus/petros/fronts or any other fish isolated to that area very hard to collect.

This is rare to me.
