Unfortunately I am far West. It's off of I10 outside the belt. You can google zip code 77084 to get an idea. The good thing is some of my mommas just had fry so there is no doubt that these are females....and you can have a few fry to go along with mom. But please keep in mind new cichlid mommas and also fry need special arrangements. You can't just keep them in with your other cichlids. If you don't know much about them make sure you read up on it but if you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer them as much as I can.
Just let me know when you'd like to stop by.

Either I have a sex changing fish or my fish had been modified... with sharp objects. Which makes me sad... Anyway... Does anyone have any females I could pick up for cheap?
Ninja fish? I so want one!A wife, two kids and two cats.

So, are you saying that they can not be mixed in with other cichlids at all, or just during/ after spawn? I would like to add her to my existing 110 gal, and I have a seporate 10 gal I move fish to for quarentine or spawn.
I have had many cichlids spawn in the big tanks, with no real problems. Excpet once over 10 years ago I had a pair kill everything in the tank after spawning.Fishtafarian- Fish are more than just a hobby, they are an obsession.

I have mine in with jewels, a small group of JD fry, a convict, a few mutts and some other peacocks. They're doing perfectly fine (excluding the lip locking with eachother). After spawning, I take my females and quarunteen them so they can get nice and fat again and feed them special stuffs.College = fishless for now. Vicarious living!

Sorry no. Seems like you both know your cichlid stuff. I just want to make sure if you take one of my brand new mommas that you put her in a "rehab" tank to give her some rest and get her fat again since they don't eat for about four weeks while holding the fry. I had somebody pick some fish up and throw them in their huge tank with other cichlids immediately and a few days later poor momma was dead.
And as far as the fry, sounds like you know that too. Can't put them in with your big cichlids unless you are trying to feed them a tasty snack. )
