  • RR first strip...

it is my first time striping tropheus...and it was not fun at all...
made some mistake and the female swallowed a few i think...
in fact i think i wont strip them again, way too hard for my taste...
or i just not yet recognize each one of them yet...
because there is like 6 females holding when i decided to strip tonight..
i know the first two holding was about to spit sometime soon...
but i guess the hard part is to find out which one are those two and to net them...
it was not easy as soon as i put the net in...can't tell which ones are the two..
the fishes are already half in sleep when i did it..but they woke up really soon before i can even figure out the two female i am suppose to strip..
i got lucky and guessed right on the first one, but i think it swallowed a few i think...
the second one was messed up...i thought it was the one about to spit, but guess not...it was not ready at all..it got scared and spit a few...and swallowed most of them i guess...
so ended up just let them be...unless there's better way to do this??
anyway...got around 16 of them...the ones in the first pic should be ready in a few day right? and the second pic is the one i guessed wrong lol...too early..

congrats man. you got more frys by striping them than letting them spit in the tank anyway. its a lot easier if you had someone help you to point out which ones you need to net. Thats my gf' job.

if youre looking at 2 fish,1 packing 7 days, one 14 days.i can usually tell the "ready" one by looking at their bellies.one will usually be thinner=the 14 day fish.

It's hard to tell the difference with new fish. After having them for a while it's easier to tell cause you look at them more.

I also use an egg crate to spit the tank in half. It's make it twice as easy to catch the fish out.

You got a really good looking group. Congrats on the fry!

Bottom set of fry is young, I would jack up the flow so the eggs don't go bad.
