Not the best mix but do-able. My callos started breeding once the petro was removed.
    Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Ok, cool. Thanks for the tip.

You didn't see any aggression between the two right?

How big was the callos vs. the petro?

I second what tim said, better off not doing it that way, since their adult size different a lot..u may see missing callo sometimes...but it may be ok with a lot of hiding place

Didn't you have some callos too?

          Did you sell those?

I didn't see any defined agression. Sometimes the petro would chase them away from his side of the tank . . . but nothing major. Petro trew was 6"; callos were 2.5-3"

                        15 x callochromis melanostigma.

I'm guessing the males will kill each other out?

I want to see some massive sand pits.

it goes to your big petro tank?
                          whats the ratio?
i dont think the males will kill each other like the petros....
i would be more worried about the petros beat them up or something..not sure that would happen..
but i think if the ratio is right, you aint gonna have issues between the callos..they are not that mean to each other at all...specially in a big tank...
and from the callos i kept...the pit was not big at all...really shallow...
most of the time there aint any pit...
but constently 2 females holding...i am not sure if it was because it's a 1 male 4-5 female group or something like that...

Yeah, this is going in the 8 footer.

I'm going to be working on a final rockscape for the tank so hopefully I can have pictures up by next weekend.

I'm also wondering what the petros will do.

It's an all petro tank as of now. Petros don't mess with other fish so I hope all will be good.
